Mark Giannini '13 & Tim Peterson '13 are SCC Scholar Leaders
The SCC (Southern Connecticut Conference) hosted its 19th annual Scholar Leader Banquet on March 25 at Anthony's Ocean View in New Haven. Forty-four scholar leaders, chosen by their respective school principals, were recognized for outstanding scholarship and leadership in their respective school and external communities. Mark Giannini '13 (left) & Tim Peterson '13 (right) were honored from Fairfield Prep, with Dr. Robert Perrotta, Principal.
Mark Giannini '13
Mark is a Magna Cum Laude student who is integrally involved in the extracurricular life of the school. He is President of the Debate Society, Editor-in-Chief of the Political Awareness magazine, and a member of our SEED program that is dedicated to fostering diversity through cultural, racial and social interaction. Mark has been a member of the National Honor Society and peer tutor since sophomore year. He is a key member of our Campus Ministry Program serving as leader on Freshman, Sophomore and Kairos retreats. Mark is also a leader on our Urban Plunge Community Service Programs.
Tim Peterson '13
Tim is a Magna Cum Laude student and is currently President of Student Government, where he has played an important role in the leadership of the Fairfield Prep student body. Previously, he served as student government secretary. Tim has been a member of the National Honor Society and peer tutor since sophomore year. He is captain of the Rugby Team, and has earned several scholar-athlete awards as a member of the Rugby and Football teams. Through Prep Campus Ministry, Tim has assisted in liturgies, and served as leader on the Freshman and Kairos retreats. Tim has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and volunteers on a regular basis at the Kennedy Center, a specialized organization serving individuals with disabilities and their families.
